Renier Before & AfterAbuse - Abandonment – Neglect

This is the dark side of the amazing relationship between humans and horses. Almost every child has dreams of riding their almost human horse in and out of unending adventures. The reality of horse ownership seldom reflects that dream; for long. The reality is that horses represent expenditures of time, expense and care which are too high for most. The horse racing industry generates a large volume of horses, far too many which end up at this end of the spectrum.
Fortunately there are a number of organizations dedicated to rescuing horses and ponies that have been abused, neglected, abandoned, or are unwanted. These groups help to provide all needy animals with the veterinary, feed, and care they need. These groups also provide needy horses with the love, compassion, and attention that some of them have never known. These groups are perpetually in need of funding and volunteers. Which by the way is a wonderful way for parents to educate their horse needy children with some of the realities of equine relationships along with practical, life changing, experience. This might be a good way to pre-educate kids who want horses.
